OHC Natal, Brazil began in 2004 as Grace Haven Church (Igreja Refúgio da Graça), a Global Outreach Mission Church under the leadership of OHC Missionaries Bryan and Jannet Carruth. Birthed from a passion to take the Gospel to Northeast Brazil, and fueled by God’s Spirit, Grace Haven distinguished itself as a Bible-based, Grace-driven, Spirit-led, and Community-focused church with a desire for Kingdom-building partnerships with other churches in Brazil and around the world.
In 2014, Grace Haven celebrated its 10 year anniversary by securing land to build a future permanent church home in Nova Parnamirim, a growing suburb of Natal. At the same time, Grace Haven leaders felt called to align more closely with the Oak Hills Church mission and vision by becoming the first international campus of Oak Hills Church.
In Nova Parnamirim they have enjoyed a partnership with a local school located in the same neighborhood as their future church site. The school is a prime location for weekly worship, teaching and equipping and serves as a launching point for reaching the surrounding communities.
In September 2015, Igreja Refúgio da Graça became OHC Natal, Brazil – Refúgio da Graça and officially launched as the seventh Oak Hills Church Campus. They express the Oak Hills Church mission, vision, and ministry strategy contextualized to the culture of northeast Brazil. They share the same teaching series as other campuses but deliver the message live in the Portuguese language.
